WHY RED CAMERA IS F'KING SO FAMOUS- RDX 1

Today Some hot topic in POST, DI , VIDEO, FILM industries and even a challenge for any Digital Image processing Software's compatibility of formats is REDCAMERA and its format .............. R3D files.

So why only this camera is so f'king famous, while there are so many pioneers in the industry like DALSA( the famous real 4K chip OEM, ARRI- most of the Industrial Camera's benchmark and people to set the standards, AATON- the name for precise technology... many more to get listed.................. Among all those, the below mentioned RED camera definition according to me.......

Even though Im a very small enthuthiatic person in this industry, According to a simple Engineers language understanding and strongly according to me RED camera is this technically

RED CAMERA= OPTICS+ELECTRONICS+IMAGE PROCESSING+PROPRIATERY COMPRESSION( some wavelet)+PROPRIATARY WRAPPING( I mean R3D)........... Im damn sure I came across all of this technology some where...

So being so simple while looking, still hitting the market so well and threatened many Analog camera manufacturers why???????????????????? A very good question, Whwn does the rest of the World Slept and RED worked during those days............ These are the questions that were circling in my mind and tried a lot learning about the things, I know I might be wrong at some places, But I want share this, so that anyone can correct me.................

After a lots of googling found something interesting to me, and made an analysis report that these could be the reasons that RED can be famous.

Okey before getting much into technology, because its little deeper aswell,and according to our student theory, not more than 5 to 10 minutes, we can concentrate on any lecture, But when we guys talk and share we do it for hours.... So I want my discussion to be made into hours, we are going to talk here for some time.

Initaly who had invented or rather supported for invention( Im very careful here, and you will understand why so).

The Person Mr.Jim Jannard , I really admire this guy, and ready to accept as my Role Model to develop in life.

Life history of Jim Jannard goes this way, In early 1975 spent some $300 to make some Motorcross hand grips, and sold back of the van, then developed some sci-fi sunglasses, shoes, bags... etc..and sold to roughly about $2.1 billion to owner of RAY-BAN........... wow what a move..............

Suddently spent some thing like fine wine, gourmet coffee, malted whisky for building the RED -One to his science team.......... Jus funny about it, It seems thats how he described when people ask him how much you paid to develop the RED-ONE camera.

So again coming to the topic, why is it famous, look at the person behind the business, He knows how to catch the people's mind, rather than the product he knows how to go inside people's mind..... Im sure that RED was also moved along in the same way, No doubt even tomorrow, any other popular camera or other well knowm company can buy this at a huge cost..............

So what exactly made thsi RED popular, According to me the name first place, catchy, an ethuthiasm to know, RED CAMERA, there gadgetary accessories, some unusual bomb in the peoples mind, Some unusual ways of tempting people to test out.......... According to me its more kind of psycology that has driven people in terms of RED rather than technology, Im have many evidences to determine this..

In this part im going to talk only few about the indepth technology , Since most of the technological research is pending at myside.

Ok technically what is the reference for FILM output, Its obviously the answer is embedded, Its film Camera.

What are the Technical Benefits of Analog Film Camera........ Yes its as below, these are the most special things....

1) Depth of Control--- which means concentating on the region of interest.

2) Better Resolution--- Sufficient to stretch to the extent as much as the human race can struggle, because u are obviously playing with the infinite reference( The loop would be never ending and the denominator in the division is zero( the powerful numeral)), Im not funny this is the fact.....................................

3) Structure of the details.

4)Reaction to the lights ( again this is a complex chemistry that human race has struggled to find the know limits ro rather explored the possibility of limits).

5)Lattitude of the information( An analogy that I would suggest ..... You have a brick wall and stop the audio passing that wall, and parallely you have a plywood partition and then treat it with a acoustic materials....... You might argue with the benefits of the plywood and the acoustic properties thats been treated, its trivial, the tangent point should also have tensile strength of the Brick, which cannot be achieved with the ply, Hope you understand, so its very straight forward that brick wall does its job very straight forward and pretty simple..........).

6) Standard aperture size for printing, I mean 35mm, S35mm etc.

Many things can be listed, Im just stopping here.

So RED would have also considered all these points and started or fine tuned their designs.

1) Yes they have concentrated on the Depth Of control, while the other digital camera's did not had or might be implementing. So how is it possible, Im sure any people who have used the SLR camera would have noticed this feature, and no doubt that same SLR Chip is being used in this camera, But these guys have made some kickass algorithms to overcome or make it smart to use as a movie camera......... Some thing odd in the crowd among the Digital Film Camera's, Isnt initially....... Im impressed, might aswell everyone.

2)Okey these guys have played a pretty good role in selecting here aswell, they have made a myth of 4K resolution when all the digital camera's were making HD camera's............. What a trade off........ I cant imagine how this guys were so dare to make everyone fool with only numbers( Im sure I shall explain this when I technically discuss in the later part), But a smart move initially, Jus make ur firt impression as the best, Should appreciate them, Now I know how Mr.Jim sold the Sunglasses to Ray-Ban............... hahahhaha....... smart Ass.

3)the structure part is a myth, We were fooled with 4K.

4) Reaction to Light( Again so much of hiding a whole pumpking with a bowl of rice.... Jus myth.)

5)Lattitude of the Information was alos a myth demonstrated initially with controlled lights and later with many developments still the myth pertains, I shall break this in my technical comparison-- But RED might claim they are doing better..... Im not satisfied, I still wish to be a fool infront of them..... Im proud that Im an Electronics Engineer..... We are still a very way ahead to compete with nature.

6) Aperture size... Yes a great move from RED size matching the film exposure area with the Mysteruim sensor exactly the same size of the 35mm Fil gate aperture............. Gr8 marketting techniquie to put people in dilema............. We need to appreciate.....................

Following all these, they made many things very similar to the Conventional Analog Film camera and created a myth that its less expensive doing a gr8 job replaced by the film camera.

So all these gadgets and myth RED continues to be Famous, Our Next Part will be completely Technically exploring, Meantime let me do some googling research...................... Cya Guys...
